Paying tribute to the victims of the horrific attacks, PM Modi said, “As we commemorate this vital festival of democracy, we cannot forget that today marks the anniversary of the tragic Mumbai terror attack. I pay my respects to those who lost their lives in this attack and reaffirm the nation’s resolve that every terrorist organization challenging India’s security will be dealt with decisively.”

The Prime Minister highlighted the significance of the Indian Constitution, describing it as more than just a “lawyer’s document” but rather a “guiding light” for all citizens. “The Constitution is our guiding light; it shows us the right path. We have witnessed challenges to democracy, including the Emergency era, but it is the strength of our Constitution that has held us together as a nation,” he said.

PM Modi also emphasized that the Constitution had been “fully implemented” in Jammu and Kashmir, marking a historic development. “For the first time, Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution is fully operational in Jammu and Kashmir. This is a significant moment in the history of our nation, and today, Constitution Day is being celebrated in Jammu and Kashmir for the first time,” he noted, underscoring the region’s integration into the democratic framework of India.

The Prime Minister’s remarks reflect India’s ongoing commitment to counterterrorism efforts and the importance of upholding the values enshrined in its Constitution.
