International Coordination Council Continues Operations Amid Legal Clarifications

Kathmandu, August 25, 2024 - The International Coordination Council (ICC) of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has confirmed that it is continuing its regular operations under the leadership of newly elected President Dr. Badri KC. The announcement comes amidst concerns and uncertainties raised following the recent 11th International Convention held in Kathmandu.

The ICC's operations have been a subject of various comments and speculations. However, the council has clarified that its activities are in full compliance with a recent ruling from the Supreme Court of Nepal. On August 7, 2024, the Supreme Court issued an order under writ number 080-WO-1157, affirming the legality of the actions taken during the convention held from October 17-20, 2023.

The Supreme Court's order explicitly supports the commencement of the 11th International Coordination Council's regular work following the convention. A copy of the order, particularly the 15th point, which is crucial in this context, has been shared with all concerned parties.

Dr. KC's leadership has thus been validated by the highest court, and the council urges all members and stakeholders to cooperate fully as they move forward. The ICC emphasizes its commitment to the goals and mission of the NRNA, ensuring that the organization continues to serve the interests of Non-Resident Nepalis worldwide.
