• First or Business Class: Hand baggage weight limit increases to 10 kg.
• Dimensions: The maximum dimensions for hand baggage are 55 cm (21.6 inches) in height, 40 cm (15.7 inches) in length, and 20 cm (7.8 inches) in width.

Exemptions for pre-May 2, 2024 tickets

Passengers who booked their tickets before May 2, 2024, qualify for higher hand baggage allowances:

• Economy: Up to 8 kg.
• Premium Economy: Up to 10 kg.
• First or Business Class: Up to 12 kg.

Note: The exemption is void if any amendments are made to the booking after May 2, 2024. In such cases, the new baggage policy applies.

Airline-specific rules

Air India

• Adheres to the BCAS weight and dimension rules for hand baggage.
• Specifies additional baggage charges for excess weight or size.

Indigo Airlines

• Passengers can carry one cabin bag with dimensions not exceeding 115 cm and a weight limit of 7 kg.
• Allows an additional personal item, such as a purse or small laptop bag, weighing up to 3 kg.
