India once again shows a mirror to Pakistan at UNHRC over Kashmir lies

India launched a scathing rebuttal against Pakistan at the seventh meeting of the 58th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) on Thursday, accusing it of being a failed state that thrives on instability and survives on international handouts.

India’s strong response to Pakistan’s allegations

India’s Permanent Mission to the UN in Geneva, Kshitij Tyagi, countered Pakistan’s allegations of human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir, dismissing them as falsehoods dictated by its military establishment. His remarks came in response to Pakistani Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, who raised concerns over India’s policies in the region.

It is regrettable to see Pakistan’s leaders and delegates continuing to spread falsehoods handed down by its military terrorist complex. Pakistan is making a mockery of the OIC by abusing it as its mouthpiece,” Mr. Tyagi said.

He criticized Pakistan for misusing international platforms to push its anti-India rhetoric while failing to address severe governance and human rights crises within its own borders.

J&K integral to India

Mr. Tyagi reaffirmed that the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh are and will always remain an integral and inalienable part of India. He highlighted the unprecedented development and stability in these regions, which directly contradicts Pakistan’s claims of unrest.

The Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh will always remain an integral and inalienable part of India. The unprecedented political, social, and economic progress in J&K in the past few years speaks for itself. These successes are a testament to the people’s trust in the government’s commitment to bring normalcy to a region scarred by decades of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.”

He further accused Pakistan of systematic human rights abuses, including the persecution of minorities, suppression of political dissent, and providing safe havens to UN-sanctioned terrorists.

As a country where human rights abuses, persecution of minorities, and systematic erosion of democratic values constitute state policies, Pakistan is in no position to lecture anyone.”

India calls out Pakistan’s failures

Mr. Tyagi strongly criticized Pakistan’s governance failures, urging it to focus on internal reforms rather than its “unhealthy obsession” with India.

Instead of its unhealthy obsession with India, Pakistan should focus on providing actual governance and justice to its own people. Its rhetoric reeks of hypocrisy, its actions of inhumanity, and its governance of incompetence. India remains focused on democracy, progress, and ensuring dignity for its people—values that Pakistan would do well to learn from.”

India’s consistent stance at the UN

India’s firm remarks at the UNHRC follow a similar statement made on February 19 at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) by India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish.

During an Open Debate, Ambassador Harish firmly responded to Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, reiterating:

The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has been, is, and will always be, an integral and inalienable part of India.”

Conclusion: A call for reality check

India’s strong response at the UNHRC reflects its firm stance against Pakistan’s continued misinformation campaigns at international forums. While Pakistan continues to raise Kashmir-related rhetoric, India remains committed to democracy, economic progress, and regional stability.

The latest developments at the UN once again highlight Pakistan’s struggle with governance, reliance on international aid, and failure to address domestic challenges, reinforcing India’s call for a reality check within Pakistan’s leadership.
