Further, Gehlot criticized the ongoing tension between the Delhi government and the central government, arguing that this political standoff has hindered the city’s development. “It is now clear that if the Delhi government spends most of its time fighting with the Centre, real progress for Delhi is not possible,” he added.

Gehlot’s resignation is seen as a significant setback for AAP, particularly as the party prepares for the Delhi Assembly elections, which are expected to be held in February 2025. The timing of the move has fueled speculation about his potential shift to the BJP, with sources indicating that his joining the saffron party is likely to be formalized later today.
