BJP rallies big guns for high-stakes campaign

Ahead of the crucial Maharashtra Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is pulling out all stops to secure a decisive victory for the Mahayuti alliance. Party bigwigs, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and other senior leaders, have been mobilized to address a series of high-profile rallies across the state.

On Friday, Prime Minister Modi will hold two rallies in Dhule and Nashik in North Maharashtra. In parallel, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will campaign in Western Maharashtra, covering Shirala, Karad South, Sangli, and Ichalkaranji. The BJP’s strategy includes a star-studded lineup of leaders in key constituencies across the state.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will address rallies at Aamgaon and Gondiya, while Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will campaign in Kolhapur South. Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami will visit Santacruz West, Nalasopara, and Dahisar. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will also be on the ground, visiting Dhule City, Nagpur West, Nagpur South, and Nagpur North.

Former Union Minister Smriti Irani will hold rallies in Vile Parle, Kalyan East, and Mira Bhayander, while BJP MP Manoj Tiwari will address crowds in Nalasopara and Kandivali East. Party legislator Pankaja Munde is slated to visit Hingoli and Rahuri.

Prime Minister Modi is expected to address a total of 10 rallies between November 8 and 14, with stops in Akola and Nanded on November 9, Chimur and Solapur on November 12, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Raigad, and Mumbai on November 14. The party has also organized a roadshow in Pune to boost its outreach.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who addressed three rallies on November 6, is likely to hold additional rallies in the coming days.

The BJP’s aggressive campaign strategy is crucial, as the party is contesting 148 seats in the Mahayuti alliance, positioning itself as the leading force in the election. The BJP, along with its allies Shiv Sena and NCP, is focusing on a development-based pitch, emphasizing the need for a “double-engine government” to accelerate Maharashtra’s growth. The party is keen to contrast its growth agenda with the Maha Vikas Aghadi, which it has portrayed as an “anti-growth” alliance.

With the stakes high, the BJP’s show of force is set to dominate the final stretch of the Maharashtra election campaign.
