On the final day of campaigning for the Maharashtra Assembly elections, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will take center stage as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wraps up its high-voltage election drive in Mumbai. Yadav is scheduled to lead five roadshows and address several public rallies in key Assembly segments, including Dharavi and Kandivali, in the state’s financial capital.

The Maharashtra Assembly elections are set to culminate with a single-phase vote on November 20, as the contest intensifies across the 288 constituencies. The results will be announced on November 23.

Before heading to Mumbai on Monday, CM Yadav expressed confidence that the Mahayuti Alliance, which includes the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde), and the NCP (Ajit Pawar), would secure a victory and form the next government in Maharashtra. He also lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, noting the growing public support for the BJP both in Maharashtra and across the country.

“Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the country has witnessed significant growth, and his popularity is rising globally,” Yadav remarked, highlighting the party’s positive momentum.

On Sunday, Yadav addressed three rallies in Jalgaon, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, and other parts of the state, urging voters to back BJP candidates in the upcoming election. He has been actively campaigning in Maharashtra over the past few weeks and was part of several campaigns in districts such as Nagpur and Amravati.

Mohan Yadav, a prominent leader in the BJP’s star campaigner list, has been at the forefront of the party’s efforts to secure a victory in Maharashtra. His final push in Mumbai, one of the state’s most crucial battlegrounds, is expected to galvanize BJP supporters ahead of polling day.

This year’s elections see a direct contest between two major alliances: the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) — consisting of Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT), the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Sharad Pawar, and the Congress — and the Mahayuti Alliance, which brings together the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde), and NCP (Ajit Pawar).

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, the BJP won 105 seats, Shiv Sena secured 56, and Congress took 44 seats. This year’s election will be closely watched as both alliances battle for control of the 288-member Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.

The election will see voting in a single phase on November 20, with a total of 288 seats up for grabs: 234 in the general category, 29 reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC), and 25 reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST).
