My New Letter Series – Dear PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, The CT-25 Fiasco And After Effects

Dear Mohsin Naqvi,

Mohsin, the problem, as always, is India!! Never doubt the fact that India is the problem. From calling Pakistan a terror state to supporting Afghans by sending money, and food, building roads and hospitals (to make Pakistan look bad), to killing peaceful Pakistani citizens in the name of eradicating terrorism, India has never wanted Pakistan to thrive as an economy!! They demonetized their own money to get back at you! How ridiculous is that??? So what if a few enterprising Pakistani citizens started a printing press especially to print Indian money!! Does that mean, you hurt your own people?? That’s the brains, or a lack of, of the current Indian administration!!

The ICC awarded you The Champions Trophy 2025 (CT-25) hosting rights! Now, the expectation was that India would also play in Pakistan. This would be a show of friendly relations between the two countries, BUT NOOO!! The BCCI (Board Control of Cricket India, although the way they behave, they should be referred to as Board of Control Of Cricket International) decided to play spoiler by declining to come (or is it go?) to peaceful Pakistan! Playing politics!!! This is Narendra Modi showing his clear intention of depriving Pakistan of its’ few days of celebration!

You were right in saying “India should not mix sports with politics”! Jay Shah is the son of the Indian Home Minister Amit Shah! So what ?? You, Mohsin Naqvi, are the Home Minister of Pakistan and the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board!! You are fighting to bring peace between the two countries (contradictory but that has always defined relations between Pakistan and India).

Didn’t your country send your players to India to play in the World Cup in 2023? Even though relations are strained? That shows your country’s commitment to peace! India doesn’t appreciate peace! They want to fight with your country ALL THE TIME! Even though they have lost ALL FOUR WARS WITH YOU!!! This time, they have gone a little too far!! Wanting to play all their games outside Pakistan!! Does that even make sense?? What kind of hosting right is that when countries don’t want to visit a peace-loving country!!

How will the Pakistani people thrive if India’s cricket team doesn’t even visit Pakistan? The shops doing business would have sold out their products! Wait, I forgot, there are no products to sell, even before CT-25! Okay, the hotels and restaurants would have thrived! Again, wait!! Restaurants don’t have food to sell!! Well, one industry would definitely have thrived!! The begging industry!! That is now being deprived by the current Indian administration!!

Your decision to boycott CT-25 if it’s moved out of your esteemed country is absolutely right! Even Indian journalists will agree with you! Not me, Naqvi, I am just a small-time writer from the USA! I am talking about Pulitzer award winners like Rajdeep, Burqa..the list goes on and on! Boycotting India will teach India a big lesson! This lesson is one they will never forget! You are a nuclear country! A superpower that can challenge even the USA! So what if the USA gives you alms to survive!! Money is not as important as self-respect!! So what if Pakistan loses about 50 million dollars! It’s not the end of the world!! But losing self-respect is the end of the world, or as your people like to say, Qayamat (end of the world)!

I would urge you to DEFINITELY BOYCOTT any cricketing events that India is involved in!! You did the right thing in NOT ALLOWING YOUR PLAYERS to participate in the IPL auction! Indian media is wrongly reporting that BCCI is the one not allowing Pakistani players to participate! As always, the Indian media is government-owned media! The world will see how important it is to have your country play in the CT-25 when the ultimate CT-25 winner is a country like the USA!! I know, I touched a raw nerve as a novice country, as far as cricket goes, like the USA beat Pakistan!! A match between THE ONLY TWO SUPERPOWERS IN THE WORLD!!

I hear none of the Bangladesh players were selected in the IPL Auction!! This is definitely Islamophobia!! How else does one explain the fact that Pakistani and Bangladeshi players are not selected, but a 13-year-old Hindu kid gets paid over 33 million PKR to play in the IPL??? What? Are you sure Mo? Afghanistan players were selected? Wait, they are not true Muslims like you! That’s the ticket!! They walk around saying Jai Shri Ram and dancing with Hindus when they beat your country!!

Mo, I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to boycott any cricketing event where India is playing! Even if that means your country goes into an economic depression for the next 100 years! Self-respect is way more important than food, clothing, and shelter! Water is not necessary as India has already blocked river flow into your country and yet, you still survive!!

Keep up the boycott Mo!! The entire Indian population is with you!!
