In a recent blog post, YouTube committed to tackling clickbait by implementing the following actions:

• Penalties for channels that repeatedly violate the platform’s policies on misleading thumbnails.

Examples of prohibited thumbnails

YouTube emphasized that videos using thumbnails like “Top Political News” without delivering relevant news content will be removed. While this isn’t a new policy, it represents stricter enforcement of existing rules aimed at maintaining content quality and preventing dishonesty.

Warning system before content removal
