On Wednesday, police sources said that the probe in the murder of a vlogger from Assam allegedly by her paramour, has revealed that the killer spent two days with the corpse of Maya Gogoi, at a service apartment in Bengaluru.

The probe so far has revealed that the boyfriend-turned-alleged killer Aarav Hanoy had spent two days with the body of Maya Gogoi, and most of the time he was just smoking cigarettes while sitting in front of the corpse.

The shocking murder came to light on Tuesday in the Indiranagar police station limits, where authorities have since formed two investigative teams to track down the suspect.

The manhunt for Aarav Hanoy, the suspected killer, is ongoing, with police teams searching for him in various locations, including Kerala. Hanoy, whose phone has been turned off, was last seen boarding a taxi from the service apartment where he and Maya Gogoi had been staying. He traveled to the Majestic area in Bengaluru’s Central Business District before disconnecting his phone.

Maya, a vlogger originally from Assam, had been living with her sister in Bengaluru’s HSR Layout. In the days leading up to her death, Maya had called her sister to inform her that she would not be coming home on Friday, November 23, as she was attending an office party. She later sent another message on Saturday, stating that she would stay out again that night.

According to Maya’s sister, Maya, and Aarav had been in a relationship for six months after meeting on social media. The couple checked into a service apartment in Indiranagar on Saturday, November 23. Investigators have since discovered that Hanoy arrived at the apartment with a knife and had also purchased a nylon rope online. It is believed that after spending time with Maya, Hanoy murdered her, stabbing her to death, before remaining in the apartment with her body for two days.

Police have obtained CCTV footage showing Maya and Aarav entering the apartment on November 23. The footage also tracks Hanoy’s movements after he left the apartment on Tuesday, November 26, at around 8:19 AM. Initial reports suggested that Hanoy may have spent a day with the corpse, but it has now emerged that he remained with it for two full days. Investigators suspect the murder occurred around midnight on Sunday, November 25.

The police are also probing whether Hanoy had planned to dismember the body, as he spent an unusually long period of time with the corpse. No other individuals were seen entering the apartment between November 23 and November 26, and investigators are now reviewing Hanoy’s online activity and phone records.

Maya, who worked for a private firm, was well-known on social media for her vlogging. As the investigation continues, police have yet to release an official statement.
