Pawan Kalyan announces new Janasena Party wing to combat disrespect of Sanatana Dharma

Pawan Kalyan, Chief of the Janasena Party (JSP) and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister has announced the formation of the ‘Narasimha Varahi Brigade,’ a dedicated wing within his party aimed at protecting Sanatana Dharma. Speaking at the inauguration of the ‘Deepam-2‘ free cooking gas cylinder scheme in Jagannadhapuram village, Kalyan expressed his commitment to his faith and vowed to confront any disrespect towards it.

“I respect all religions, but I stand firm on my faith. Those who criticize Sanatana Dharma on social media or speak disrespectfully about it will have to face the consequences,” Kalyan stated. The brigade is intended to take a proactive stance against perceived attacks on Sanatana Dharma.

During his address, Kalyan also highlighted the welfare initiatives under his coalition government, asserting that they prioritize superior welfare measures compared to the previous administration. The Deepam-2 scheme aims to distribute three cooking gas cylinders each year to over 10.8 million eligible beneficiaries, totaling an investment of Rs.13,425 crore over five years.

Kalyan reiterated the government’s commitment to the safety of girls and women, promising stringent action against those making threats of assault or harassment. He criticized members of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) for their behavior on social media, stating, “Despite receiving only 11 seats, YSRCP members have not reformed and continue to spread falsehoods about our government.”

The JSP Chief emphasized that any abusive language directed at women would not be tolerated and assured that the party is monitoring social media activities related to such behavior. “From now on, anyone who speaks abusively about women will face stringent action,” he warned.

Kalyan also reflected on his personal connection to the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Temple in IS Jaganathapuram, a site he visited during a challenging period in 2009. He expressed a commitment to the temple’s development, noting a proposed budget of Rs.2.5 crore for construction and Rs.2 crore for a protective wall. Additionally, he called for an inquiry into previous unauthorized excavations near the temple and promised strict action against those responsible.

This initiative and Kalyan’s broader commitments underscore his party’s focus on both cultural preservation and social welfare as it prepares for future political challenges in the region.
