‘Deep State’ exploiting divisions in Bharat

The recent revelations by Republic Bharat’s Arnab Goswami regarding technology giant Meta’s alleged involvement in a deeper conspiracy with “Deep State America” are indeed shocking. However, they are not entirely surprising. The root of the issue lies in the inability of the United States and other Western powers to accept Bharat’s (India’s) rapid rise, both economically and geopolitically. While the US economy struggles with a mounting debt burden, Bharat is steadily progressing toward becoming the world’s third-largest economy.

Adding to this tension is Bharat’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s growing stature on the global stage. Few leaders today command the level of respect Modi has earned as a proud nationalist and statesman rooted in the Sanatani principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—”the world is one family.” From the outset of his tenure, Modi prioritized fostering good relations with neighboring countries, inviting their leaders to his 2014 swearing-in ceremony. Over the years, his proactive diplomacy, including his signature “hug diplomacy,” has bolstered Bharat’s international relations, yielding partnerships across continents. Modi’s leadership has also garnered him 19 of the highest civilian honors from countries worldwide—a record unmatched by any other leader.

Bharat’s economic ascendancy

Unsurprisingly, the US has reportedly engaged in covert “Deep State” activities in Bharat for years. As a global superpower, America has long dictated terms and policies to the world, dividing nations into developed, developing, and underdeveloped economies. Bharat, an emerging economy, is now challenging this status quo. It not only achieves self-reliance but also boasts record-high foreign currency reserves.

Goldman Sachs’ recent research highlights Bharat’s economic prowess, projecting global economic growth in 2025 but unevenly distributed. While the US GDP is expected to grow by just 2.5%, Bharat’s GDP is forecasted to grow at an impressive 6.3%, more than double that of the US. China’s growth is estimated at 4.5%, and the Eurozone a meager 0.8%. The report underscores Bharat’s economic momentum under Modi’s leadership, which is expected to continue through 2026. These growth trends have made Bharat the envy of Western economies, especially the US, whose global dominance is waning.

Alarmingly, the US appears to have funneled clandestine funding to anti-Modi political factions, including the Congress and AAP parties, as well as the I.N.D.I. Alliance. As Arnab’s report indicates, US diplomats have been meeting with figures known to oppose Modi. These actions suggest a deliberate effort to destabilize Bharat’s leadership, echoing claims that Bharat’s “true freedom” came only in 2014 with Modi’s ascension.

A history of US interference

The role of US foreign policy in destabilizing Bharat is not new. Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, for example, has been accused of being anti-Bharat and anti-Hindu. During her tenure, and those of her predecessors, the US indiscriminately funded Pakistan, inadvertently supporting cross-border terrorism against Bharat. The infamous 26/11 Mumbai attacks and even the sheltering of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan, the mastermind of 9/11 on US soil, exemplify how US policies overlooked Bharat’s security concerns.

The recent political upheaval in Bangladesh also reflects the alleged influence of the US “Deep State.” During the Obama administration, there were reports of US orchestration in favor of anti-Bharat factions. The US’s strategy seems to be to foment unrest in border states like Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, and West Bengal, enabling anti-Hindu and anti-Bharat elements to infiltrate. The infiltration of illegal migrants from Bangladesh and Pakistan’s support for insurgencies and separatist movements, like Khalistan, further exacerbate the challenges Bharat faces.

The US’ contradictory approach

Publicly, the US maintains a facade of camaraderie with Bharat. Since Modi’s election, every American president has visited Bharat, and Modi himself has received red-carpet welcomes in the US, including President Biden in 2023. Yet, behind the scenes, reports suggest the US has been covertly working to undermine Modi’s leadership and Bharat’s unity.

Despite these efforts, Modi’s leadership remains resilient. Bharat’s Hindus are increasingly aware of both internal and external threats, exemplified by slogans like “Batenge to Katenge” (If we divide, we fall). The so-called “Deep State” in the US continues to exploit divisions within Bharat, including those based on caste, religion, and gender, to destabilize the nation. However, these attempts have largely failed, highlighting the strength and resolve of Bharat under Modi’s leadership.
