Bomb threats target RBI

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in Mumbai received a bomb threat email on Friday, prompting the police to file a case against an unidentified individual. Authorities are currently investigating the matter.

“A threatening email was received on the official website of the Reserve Bank of India. A case has been registered against an unknown accused at Mata Ramabai Marg (MRA Marg) police station. Investigation into the matter is underway,” Zone 1 DCP, Mumbai Police said.A threatening email was received on the official website of the Reserve Bank of India.

Series of bomb threats to Delhi schools

In a separate incident, six prominent schools in Delhi received bomb threats via email on Friday morning, triggering immediate security protocols. The affected schools included Bhatnagar Public School in Paschim Vihar, Cambridge School in Srinivaspuri, Delhi Public School in East of Kailash, Delhi Public School in Defence Colony, Delhi Police Public School in Safdarjung Enclave, and Venkatesh Public School in Rohini.

The Delhi Fire Brigade and police teams swiftly responded to the alerts, conducting thorough checks of the premises to ensure the safety of students and staff. After an extensive search, no suspicious items were found.

This follows an earlier incident on December 8, when over 40 schools in Delhi received bomb threats demanding a ransom of USD 30,000.

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi criticized the central government for failing to ensure security, accusing the BJP-led administration of neglect. Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also condemned Union Home Minister Amit Shah, stating that Delhi has never experienced such a deteriorating law and order situation.

On November 19, the Delhi High Court directed the Delhi government and Delhi Police to formulate a comprehensive action plan, including a detailed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to handle bomb threats and related emergencies. The court has set an eight-week deadline for the completion of these measures.
