Sambodhi Meditation Centre begins construction on Osho’s Enlightenment Day

London – A historic and sacred moment took place as the foundation for Sambodhi Meditation Centre was laid in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, England. This significant step, initiated on Osho’s Enlightenment Day (21st March), marks the beginning of a dedicated space for meditation, mindfulness, and self-awareness.

A Vision Brought to Life by Ma Sarita (Ganga Maa)

The heart and soul behind this meditation centre is Ma Sarita (Ganga Maa), whose vision, dedication, and spiritual commitment have made this dream a reality. Sw Osho Utsav expressed his deep gratitude, acknowledging that the centre would not have been possible without her unwavering efforts. Her leadership and devotion have laid the foundation for a space where seekers can come together to meditate, grow, and find inner peace.

Since its inception, Osho Sambodhi Meditation Centre has been a heaven for seekers. With the construction of this new meditation hall, the centre will expand its ability to support individuals on their spiritual journeys.

A Sacred Beginning on an Auspicious Day

The foundation-laying ceremony was conducted with traditional prayers and rituals, invoking blessings for the successful completion of the meditation centre. Swami Ananda Utsav and Maa Simran, who have been strong pillars in this journey, performed the sacred rites under the guidance of a priest. The land was blessed, fed, and watered, symbolizing harmony and divine support.

The event was attended by seekers and Osho lovers from across the UK, including special guests Ma Suryakala Bharati (Osho Sangam Distribution Centre) and Ma Pramila Bharati (Osho Pankaj Meditation Centre)—two of the oldest Osho sannyasins in the UK—who expressed their joy and appreciation for the centre’s warm hospitality and spiritual mission.

The event was graced by the presence of several esteemed Osho sannyasins, including Swami Milan, Swami Shubash Shrestha, Maa Ramola, Swami Ananda Dinesh,  Swami Krishna, Swami Saparman (Dahal), Swami Krishnas Chaitanya (Deepak Shrestha), Maa Meera Anand (Urmila Shrestha), Maa Dev Ananda Mai (Binita Kahkda), Maa Akash Jyoti (Srijana Basnet), Maa Prem Jyoti, Maa Deba Bandana, Swami Biren Khadka, Maa Dhayn Ajita, Maa Atma Nischal (Kalpana Ghimire) and Maa Namita Subedi, among others.

Their participation and blessings made the occasion even more special, reinforcing the spirit of community, meditation, and togetherness.

A Space for All Seekers

This project is a labour of love, initiated by Swami Ananda Utsav , who took sannyas in  September 2017 from Swami Arun, and supported unconditionally by Maa Simran. The centre will serve as a dedicated space for meditation, mindful awareness, and spiritual growth, welcoming individuals from all backgrounds to explore their inner journey.

With construction now underway, Sambodhi Meditation Centre invites the public to become part of this transformative space. Whether through meditation sessions, community support, or simply visiting, everyone is welcome to experience the peace and awakening that this centre aims to offer.

As the foundation has been laid on Osho’s Enlightenment Day, it carries a powerful message: a new space is emerging for seekers to awaken, meditate, and celebrate life.
