Israeli PM claims Iran targeted Trump as “Enemy Number One”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday claimed that Iran’s Islamic regime had actively worked to assassinate US President Donald Trump, identifying him as a key obstacle to Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Speaking to Fox News, Netanyahu said, “They want to kill him. He’s enemy number one.”

The Israeli leader described Trump as a decisive figure who abandoned what he called weak negotiations with Iran and instead took aggressive steps, such as pulling out of the nuclear deal and authorizing the killing of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani. Netanyahu added, “He made it very clear: ‘You cannot have a nuclear weapon.’”

Netanyahu says he was also targeted by Iranian missile strike

Netanyahu also stated he was personally targeted, revealing that a missile was fired directly into the bedroom window of his home. He referred to himself as Trump’s “junior partner” in confronting Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile ambitions.

Imminent nuclear threat justified operation, Netanyahu says

Netanyahu warned that Israel was facing a dual existential threat—one from Iran’s nuclear enrichment program and another from its rapidly expanding ballistic missile arsenal. According to the Prime Minister, Iran could produce 10,000 missiles within three years and 20,000 within 26 years, posing a direct danger to Israeli cities.

Faced with this urgency, Israel launched Operation Rising Lion, a military campaign Netanyahu described as “one of the greatest military operations in history.” He said the strikes were intended to set back Iran’s nuclear program and eliminate the threat before it materialized fully.

Iran retaliates with missile strikes, talks cancelled

In response to Israel’s offensive, Iran launched a large-scale ballistic missile assault targeting Israeli cities, though many projectiles were intercepted. Amid this escalation, Iran cancelled its participation in planned nuclear negotiations.

Netanyahu maintained that diplomatic efforts with Iran were ineffective, stating, “Negotiations with a terrorism-sponsoring regime are going nowhere.” He emphasized that Israel would continue taking whatever action was necessary to dismantle Iran’s nuclear and missile capabilities.

Trump blocked Israeli plan to target Ayatollah Khamenei

Two US officials told Reuters that President Trump recently vetoed an Israeli plan to assassinate Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The revelation came as Israel conducted airstrikes for a third consecutive day, while some Iranian missiles breached Israeli defenses and struck within major cities.

Trump issued a stern warning to Iran not to retaliate against US interests in the region, but also predicted that Israel and Iran would eventually reach a deal. He cited his past diplomatic efforts, saying, “Just like I got India and Pakistan to make peace.”

A US official commented anonymously, stating, “Have the Iranians killed an American yet? No. Until they do, we’re not even talking about going after the political leadership.”

Meanwhile, Netanyahu strongly implied that Israel’s recent strikes had killed Iran’s intelligence chief, Mohammad Kazemi, as part of the broader campaign to dismantle Iran’s command structure.
