25 students fall ill after food poisoning in Telangana’s Narayanpet

At least 25 children fell ill after consuming mid-day meals at a government school in Narayanpet district of Telangana on Wednesday. The incident took place at Zilla Parishad School in Maganoor, where students reported vomiting shortly after having lunch.

School staff and teachers immediately took action, transporting the affected children to a nearby hospital. Some of the students were sent home after receiving first aid, while nine others were admitted to Makthal Government Hospital. The condition of one eighth-grade female student is said to be critical. Several students were treated by doctors on-site at the school.

The incident prompted an outpouring of concern from parents and family members, who rushed to the school to check on their children. Police officials also arrived to investigate, gathering information from the school staff and teachers.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy directed authorities to take immediate action. He instructed the District Collector to ensure that those responsible for the incident were held accountable and emphasized that any officials found guilty of negligence should be suspended without delay.

Reddy warned that such incidents must not be allowed to recur, urging Collectors across all districts to be vigilant. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing nutritious and safe meals to students, stressing that strict action will be taken against those found responsible for any lapses in the future.

As the investigation continues, health authorities are monitoring the students’ conditions, and efforts are being made to ensure that similar incidents do not occur again.
