Kuwait bestows the highest honour ‘The Order of Mubarak Al Kabeer’ to PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded Kuwait’s highest honour, ‘The Order of Mubarak Al Kabeer,’ during a ceremony at the Bayan Palace in Kuwait. This prestigious accolade, typically conferred upon heads of state and foreign dignitaries, marks the 20th international recognition for PM Modi, reflecting his significant global stature.

The ‘Order of Mubarak Al Kabeer’ is the knighthood order of Kuwait, awarded as a sign of friendship to heads of state, foreign sovereigns, and members of foreign royal families. Notable past recipients include former US Presidents Bill Clinton and George Bush, as well as Prince Charles.

The Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, presented the award to PM Modi, who was also given a ceremonial guard of honor during the event. This visit marks the first by an Indian Prime Minister to Kuwait in 43 years, underscoring the strengthening ties between the two nations.

During his two-day visit, PM Modi engaged with the Indian community in Kuwait, addressing the ‘Hala Modi‘ event at the Shaikh Saad Al Abdullah Indoor Sports Complex. He also visited the Gulf Spic employees camp, where he acknowledged the contributions of Indian workers to Kuwait’s development.
