He’s got enough problems with his wife“: Trump on why he won’t deport Prince Harry

US President Donald Trump has ruled out the possibility of deporting Prince Harry, despite ongoing legal challenges questioning the Duke of Sussex’s US immigration status. Trump clarified that he would “leave him alone” as Harry already has “enough problems with his wife.”

The remarks come amid a legal battle over Harry’s visa, primarily led by the Heritage Foundation, which has raised concerns over whether Harry disclosed his past illegal drug use in his US visa application.

Trump praises Prince William, distances himself from Harry

Speaking to the New York Post, Trump expressed admiration for Prince William, describing him as a “great young man.” The president and the Prince of Wales reportedly met privately in Paris during the reopening of Notre-Dame Cathedral in December 2024.

This meeting starkly contrasts Trump’s tense relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who have previously been outspoken critics of Trump.

Trump calls Harry “whipped” by Meghan Markle

Trump has frequently mocked Prince Harry, claiming that he is “whipped” by Meghan Markle.

I think poor Harry is being led around by the nose,” Trump previously stated, according to the New York Post.

Meghan Markle has previously referred to Trump as “divisive” and “misogynistic“, fueling the strained relationship between Trump and the Sussexes.

Prince Harry’s visa under scrutiny

The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, has filed a lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security, questioning whether Prince Harry received special treatment in his visa approval process.

The legal challenge references Harry’s autobiography, “Spare,” in which he admits to using cocaine, cannabis, and psychedelics in the past.

Nile Gardiner, a representative of the Heritage Foundation, stated:

Anyone applying for a US visa must be truthful in their application, and it is unclear whether Prince Harry was.”

The think tank also suspects that Harry may have received preferential treatment from the Biden administration, given his and Meghan’s relocation to California in 2020 following their exit from the British royal family—a move widely known as “Megxit.”

With legal battles continuing, Prince Harry’s US immigration status remains under scrutiny, though Trump has made it clear he has no intention of pushing for deportation.
