Elon Musk comments following Donald Trump’s 2nd assassination attempt

In response to the recent assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump, tech billionaire Elon Musk responded by questioning why no similar attempts were being made against President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

On Sunday, Trump faced what is being described as his second assassination attempt after gunshots were fired outside a golf course in Florida where he was playing. The FBI has confirmed the incident, with Trump’s campaign and law enforcement officials reporting that he is safe and unharmed.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Musk, a vocal supporter of Trump, commented on the situation, saying, “And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala.” This remark has drawn significant attention and criticism.

The US Secret Service confirmed that its agents “opened fire on a gunman” near the golf course boundary. Authorities recovered an AK-47-style rifle and a video camera from the scene. While it remains unclear if the gunman, identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, fired directly at Trump, Secret Service agents did engage the suspect, who was found hiding in the bushes.

Donald Trump Jr. also highlighted the gravity of the situation, posting on X, “Again folks! SHOTS FIRED at Trump Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida. An AK-47 was discovered in the bushes, per local law enforcement.”

This incident follows an earlier attack in Pennsylvania two months ago, where Trump sustained a minor ear injury during a campaign rally. The attacker was killed by security personnel on the spot.

In response to the recent attempt, the White House issued a statement confirming that both President Biden and Vice President Harris had been briefed on the incident. President Biden condemned all forms of political violence, stating, “There is no place for political violence or for any violence ever in our country.”
