PM Modi embarks on 3-day US visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has commenced a three-day visit to the United States, where he will participate in the QUAD Leaders’ Summit and address the United Nations’ “Summit of the Future.” The visit includes engagements with the Indian diaspora and attendance at a community program.

In his departure statement, Modi expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming meetings. “Today, I am embarking on a three-day visit to the United States of America to participate in the QUAD Summit hosted by President Joe Biden in Wilmington and to address the Summit of the Future at the UN General Assembly in New York,” he stated.

The Prime Minister emphasized the significance of the QUAD Summit, where he will join President Biden, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. “The forum has emerged as a key group of like-minded countries committed to peace, progress, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region,” he noted.

Modi’s anticipated meeting with President Biden will provide an opportunity to review and enhance the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership. “We will identify new pathways for the benefit of our people and for the global good,” he remarked.

Additionally, the Prime Minister expressed eagerness to engage with the Indian diaspora and influential American business leaders, highlighting their role as vital stakeholders in the relationship between the world’s largest and oldest democracies.

Describing the ‘Summit of the Future’ as a pivotal moment for the global community, Modi intends to represent the views of one-sixth of humanity. “The stakes for a peaceful and secure future are among the highest in the world,” he said, underscoring his commitment to global cooperation and progress.
